Wearing Human Hair Weave Helps Your Hair Growth

Posted By: Marcella Whyte

I feel like wearing human hair weave get such a bad rap for being bad for your natural hair, but it is just not true. It is one of the best protective hairstyles to help grow your natural hair out.

Weaves Do Help Hair Growth

The first thing first is that weaves are one of the best ways to transition and to grow out your hair whether you have natural hair or relaxed hair. For a lot of women and men who are trying to grow their hair out would like to wear weaves, either Brazilian hair, Peruvian hair or Indian hair. Wearing weaves is one of the best ways to actually achieve length that you would like and stop your hair from experiencing any damage because this is a low manipulation hairstyle. A low manipulation hairstyle is a hairstyle that can be created and maintained for a long period of time without having to detangle and comb through your hair and actually manipulate your hair to do so.

Whenever your hair is braided in sew-in, you are leaving your hair alone and by leaving your hair alone for long periods of time and not doing anything to it, you are letting the growth that is coming out be retained. You are not letting the ends be broken off through styling and damaging. So weaves is your best bet if you want to keep your hands out of your hair and also limit any damage you are experiencing.

Thing You Can Incorporate When Wearing Weaves

#1. Choosing A Texture That Is Similar To Your Hair

If you are going to be wearing a weave, make sure to find extensions that mimic very closely to the natural curl pattern of your hair. In that way when it's installed, it looks so much like your own hair and it's even very blendable with your own hair. Additionally, if you don't want to leave out any of your hair, you can always completely conceal your hair, which is a very popular choice of wearing sew-in that can do that for you.

#2. Using Heat-Free Styling

If you do want to leave out your real hair with your style when wearing weaves and you are going to be blending your hair with your hair extensions or leaving out any of your real hair, make sure that instead of using heat, you can use rollers to do so.

If your extensions have more of a relaxed look to it or if it's more elongated the curls aren't really as tight as yours, then use large rollers to mimic the look of your extensions so that it can blend a whole lot easier. Even if you decide to use extensions that are a little bit curlier than your real hair, you can use perm rods to mimic that by rolling your leave out in small sections with perm rods so that way when it dries and unravels it looks just like your extensions.

#3. Clean And Condition Your Natural Hair

There is one important thing that you have to remember if you are going to be wearing weaves for an extended period of time, you have to make sure get in hair to shampoo, condition and moisturize your natural hair especially if you are wearing a style that popularly like a sew-in style, you have to make sure that you are able to get shampoo at your root area at your scalp so that you are able to clean and condition.

There are different ways that your extensions are installed such as they are being sewn on a wig cap, a weaving net or just on your braids. If your extensions are sewn just to your braid pattern, there is not much of any conflict with any other material getting in the way for you to be able to wash and condition your scalp.

If you are wearing a net, you can still get in hair just as long as you bring your products down to a watery consistency. Always do this. Always bring your shampoos and conditioners and things down to a watery consistency with the help of an applicator bottle. Just puts a little part in them with a little of water and make sure they are able to reach your scalp with that water and gently massaging your scalp if you can reach or the outside of the net with your fingers. Actually lift up any dandruff or debris a product buildup and things like that. It is very important that you keep your hair and scalp clean and moisturized. When you are taking down your hair after a month or two months, you dont have any breakage.

#4. Maintain Your Hair Between Two Sew-Ins

One of the most important parts of protective styling or doing weaves to grow out your natural hair is that when you are in between weaves, make sure that you are following the protocol to do your deep conditioning and protein treatment and stuff like that.

#5. Trim Your Ends Regularly

My very last thing that you have to keep in mind is that if you want to continue to gain more length which is called retaining length, you have to trim your ends.

If your ends are not in bad shape, just lightly dust, which means that you cut off about an eighth of an inch right off the bottom. You literally just skimming the very bottom of your ends to make sure they are not very dry or that they are not breaking or beginning to split. If you stay on top of keeping trims, then just dust trim in between each sew in for each install that you are wearing while protective styling. I hope you understand that this is probably the best way that you can actually grow your hair.

A lot of women do it even I do it. I like to keep my hair in weaves to help me retain length as well. Those are so many tips that you can incorporate when wearing your weaves. Good luck on a hair journey.
